Songs July 25, 2010 Sophie Quality of CD was great and music just wonderful. I recommend this CD and give it an A++.
London Warsaw New York June 9, 2010 John Mettler (Seattle, WA USA) This is an early disc of Basia. A singer who came out of the time of Swing Out Sister and a bit over looked. She has a respectably wide vocal range and a pleasing tonal quality. The choice of material and her presentation will have you listening to this disc over and over.
London Warsaw New York November 24, 2009 MB (CA, USA) My friends love her music. Too bad they do not play her music on radio like back in the '80s. Her lyrics are very decent and the music is catchy with Latin jazz, pop, classical and R&B accents.
Cruising for Bruising! August 4, 2009 Sylviastel I have to say that I have listened to this compact disc a few times. Personally, I think it's okay and I haven't heard much music from Basia before but I'll probably look for compacts discs in the future. I felt the songs were fine here and her voice is stellar but I never felt like I got the whole picture with each song. I kind of felt empty or unfulfilled with the compact disc. Now when this album was first released in 1990, it was before compact discs so there were only about 10-12 songs on an audio cassette. Basia makes an impressive debut if this was her debut. I don't remember since it's been about 20 years. Yes, I will hear it again and again but now I feel that 3 stars explains how I feel about this compact disc. I didn't realize that it dance music or jazz but I think it experiments in a lot of areas which makes it unique than most. Still, each song is unique and has Basia's voice but I still have mixed feelings if I like it or not. I'll just have too keep listening to it again.
A True Artist For All Time. November 29, 2008 Christopher M. (Bloomington, MN USA) I remember when my father played this cd back when it first came out and it still feels just like yesterday and I don't think I have ever heard another unbelievable voice such as Basia. In fact since he put his copy aside and I couldn't hear it anymore I decided to buy a second cd for myself because she has a sound that is very pleasing to the ears and one that is completely flawless. The two I still enjoy listening to through and through is this one London Warsaw New York and Time and Tide. In conclusion all I have left to say is when I have heard any of her music I can see why she still can sing with the absolute best.
